Travel Tuesday: Desert Island Beauty & Wellness- Makeup

The second item I would take to a desert island would be lipstick because it brightens the face even without any makeup on. 

The colour would depend on what I packed and the time of year, but red is a classic staple in any season. 

Anyone who knows me knows I always wear something on my lips because it completes any look- fitness, beach, glamour or day to day. 

It also can be used to add colour to cheeks if applied lightly, so it's multi purpose in the sense of one item only.

Makeup Monday- rainy day makeup tips

When it's raining and you're out and about its best to keep makeup simple so that it will withstand the elements. Here are 3 tips to rainy day makeup: 

1. Apply a tinted primer to help smooth out fine lines & add a little colour to even out skintone. 

2. Use a splash proof or water proof mascara to prevent mascara from running. 

3. Wear a bright lipstick to brighten up your face and complete the look. 

Makeup Monday- Arbonne Lipstick

I was introduced to Arbonne products a few years ago and was really impressed by a few of their lip care products.  I love their lipstick, lip liner and lip gloss, also known as lip polish. Makeup Monday- House of Colour review

I was introduced to House of Colour a few years ago when I had my colours done by Anita Marsh, HOC representative. I was a bright paintbox spring- awesome all things bright I can wear, which one of my life's mottos are: live life in colour! 

Anyway, part of having your colours done is having makeup colours recommended. Obviously with my training and background in beauty I was familiar with the application, but I hadn't come across this brand so invested in the colours that were recommended for my pallet. 

My two favourites from their range are the blush and lipsticks. The blush lasts all day, similar to that by MAC cosmetics. The lipstick staying power is the best I've come across in all my years of trying and playing with makeup- coming up to about 20 now! The layering required by other brands just to achieve the same length if wear can be done with one application of the House of Colour lipsticks.
