Skincare Saturday- Sleep deprivation

Sleep deprivation is becoming more of a current topic and is being discussed in the press, round the dinner table and over coffee. It affects many different types of people- city flyers, parents of young children, those suffering with illness and others who are just plain stressed out!

The skin has different requirements during the day than at night. During the day the skin is exposed to environmental assault, makeup, caffeine and poor diet.  So the skin needs sunscreen, antioxidants and other ingredients that help to fight free radicals and anti ageing.

Pure Light spf 50 brightens the skin, helps hydrate and protects it from the ultraviolet rays.

At night the skin can become dry and dehydrated from heating and lack of water consumption, excretes less sebum because the body is less active and it can become hotter.  It is essential to help the skin repair itself by ensuring it is clean, nutrients are restored and it is moisturised with a heavier cream.

Overnight repair serum increases the skins luminosity and combats the signs of ageing.

Help your body unwind in an evening with activities that help to reduce stress.  Exercise such as yoga, swimming or an evening run can help release the daily tensions. A long soak in the tub, listening to relaxing music or meditating can help free the mind from work and worry.

Stress Relief Treatment Oil can be used in the bath, as a body moisturiser or massage medium to aid relaxation.

Get some sleep and it will improve your skin condition and lift your mood!
