Skincare Saturday- drink water

Whether you're out celebrating a special occasion, the beginning of Spring or just having a night out- drink water with each alcoholic beverage.
Alcohol is dehydrating, so it's important to rehydrate the skin. Hydration comes from the inside and out. By drinking a glass of water with each alcoholic beverage you can help prevent a hangover and help maintain skin health.

When you get home give your skin a drink with Dermalogica's Skin Hydrating Booster or Skin Hydrating Mask.
The booster can be applied using a 5p size and gently pressing onto the face, neck and decollate or by mixing with an evening moisturiser. The mask can be applied all over the face, neck and decollate and left overnight or removed after 10 minutes and followed with an eye cream and night moisturiser.

Top Tip Tuesday- sleep well

Apply relaxing essential oils to the soles of your feet, hands and shoulders to aid relaxation and a deeper sleep.

Dermalogica's Stress Relief Oil is my favourite. It can also be added to an evening bath or mixed in with body lotion to ease tension and sore muscles.

Makeup Monday- Toledo mascara by MAC

The new Spring range by MAC is selling fast and I understand why- the colours and products are fab!

Caligrafy Isabel and Ruben Modern Twist Lash mascara in Navy.

The wavy brush helps to capture every lash creating longer and fuller lashes. To avoid getting mascara under the eye turn the wavy angled wand on its side and apply in downward strokes.

Navy suits every season on the colour spectrum and can enhance blue eyes, add warmth to green eyes or a splash of colour to brown eyes.

Skincare Saturday- city skincare

I spent last weekend in Barcelona for my Mom's big 60th. Great weekend, but my skin really suffered from the change in climate, travel and exposure to the pollution. Travelling dehydrates the skin due to the drying effects of air conditioning and heating. The change in climate can cause the skin to be more dry and pollution leaves a dirty residue on the skin which can lead to congestion.

Whether you work, live or visit a city here are 3 tips to healthy skin:

1. Cleanse- a deep cleanse is important to remove all impurities. Using a double cleansing routine such as Dermalogica's Precleanse and another cleanser to suit your skin type will remove all of the dirt and makeup leaving you skin clean.

2. Hydrate- use a hydrating spray after cleansing and throughout the day so that your moisturiser is easily absorbed and your skin stays hydrated. For dehydrated skin, using Dermalogica's Skin Hydrating Booster and Skin Hydrating Mask which contains Hyaluronic acid will give your skin a weeks worth of water with one application.

3. Protect- wearing a daily moisturiser and spf is a vital part of a daily skincare regime to protect the skin from ultra violet rays and the elements. A broad spectrum spf 30 or above will protect your skin from sundamage.

Makeup Monday- look in a box

I love MAC's Look in a Box sets that come out about once or twice a year. It's the perfect size to fit in your handbag or to take on holiday as an all-on-one makeup kit. They have the makeup 'additional' essentials- blusher, eye shadow, and lippy. They usually come with a double ended brush but I swap that for an eyeliner.

MAC Look in a Box All About Beige

They usually come in two different colour sets to suit both a warm and cool complexion. Warm complexions are Spring and Autumn colours- think nature with the clear bright Spring flowers or Autumnal leaves. Cool complexions are the Summer and Winter colours- silver, charcoal grey, mauve and light pinks.

The colour choices can be used for a soft day makeup or smokey evening look. There are two lipsticks, one to finish off each look as well! When packing for a weekend away all you need to add is a tinted moisturiser and mascara.

Suncare Sunday- holiday tan tips

Have you ever arrived on holiday & it's obvious you're the new comer to the beach or pool?

Fake tan before heading off on holiday can help to prevent tan lines and skin burning. By having a healthy glow before arriving, the rush to get a tan doesn't happen and wearing sun protection doesn't inhibit you from reaching your target.

Sienna X spray tan gives a nice even coverage and you can choose how dark you'd like to appear from five shades. The whole process takes about 20 minutes and within 24 hours you are ready for holiday!

Sienna X also has a gradual tan that you can use as a daily moisturiser to gently build up your colour or to help maintain the tan. If you're only away for a weekend the sample size is enough to fully moisturise your whole body!

Take care of your skin by applying sun protection spf30 before heading into the sunshine and re-apply every two hours even after fake tanning.
